By Millennial Medical, makers of the In-Motion crutch

Crutches that actually fit tall people.

Walk into a pharmacy at 6'4" and the crutches on the shelf will not fit you. Most retail "tall adult" sizes stop around 6'2". The In-Motion Tall line is built for the rest of us: underarm crutches that fit to 7'1" and forearm crutches that fit to 6'8", each rated to 350 lbs.

Why this site exists

Tall people get the leftovers of the crutch market

Crutch sizing is built around the average body. Standard adult forearm crutches typically adjust to a handle height of 36 to 38 inches, which runs out somewhere around 6'0" to 6'2" depending on your proportions. Past that, people end up hunching over crutches that are too short, which puts your wrists, shoulders, and posture in positions they were never meant to hold.

The fix is not "extend the poles and hope." A crutch that fits a taller body needs a longer adjustment range, more height positions so the fit lands exactly, and a weight rating that matches a bigger frame. That is what the In-Motion Tall line was designed for.

A real tall range

Spring assist

Millennial Medical's Spring Assist Technology is designed to absorb impact as you walk, reducing it by up to 40% compared to a rigid post. Taller users put more force through every step, so this matters more the bigger you are.

Pair of articulating crutch tips

Ergonomic handles + articulating tips

Contoured left and right handles keep wrists in a neutral position, and articulating tips stay flat on the ground through your stride, on pavement, grass, gravel, and indoor floors.

350 lb capacity

Both Tall models are rated to 350 lbs. Many retail crutches stop at 250 or 300, which rules them out for a lot of the people who need the tall sizing in the first place.

Two ways to get the fit

Which In-Motion Tall is yours?

5'10" – 7'1"

Underarm, fits 5'10" to 7'1"

The familiar style, in a size almost nobody else makes. Floor-to-cradle adjusts from 48" to 62", which covers users past 7 feet. If you are very tall, this is likely the only off-the-shelf crutch that fits. SKU 6500, HCPCS E0117.

Forearm (Lofstrand), fits 5'3" to 6'8"

The pick for longer-term or active use. Your hands and forearms carry the load, your arms swing naturally, and the cuffs let you free a hand without dropping the crutch. SKU 7500C, HCPCS E0110.
